Fundraising for Everest in the Alps

Inspire your network. Make an impact. Change lives.

Brain tumours are ruthless. They do not discriminate, striking at the most vulnerable – children, young people, and their families.

Since 2015, Everest in the Alps has raised over £6 million for The Brain Tumour Charity, funding pioneering research including a landmark £5 million investment at the Everest Centre – the largest paediatric low‑grade brain tumour research facility in the world.

But the challenge is far from over. Brain tumours remain the leading cause of cancer-related death in under‑40s. Your influence, network, and determination can accelerate progress.

By taking on Everest in the Alps, you’re not just fundraising – you’re driving research, giving families hope, and pushing closer to a cure.

Think Like a Network Leader

Your influence is your superpower. One well-placed conversation, a key introduction, or a strategic partnership can unlock far more support than dozens of general asks.

Consider where your credibility and story carry weight:

  • Board members, colleagues, or professional contacts
  • Alumni groups or industry peers
  • Clients, suppliers, and collaborators
  • Influencers or thought leaders in your sector

Focus on high-leverage opportunities – your network can multiply impact far beyond what you imagine.

Time-Smart Fundraising

Your schedule is demanding. We recommend strategies that maximise impact without overextending:

  • Delegate: Enlist colleagues, family, or friends to run small activities on your behalf
  • Digital-first: Use email templates, LinkedIn posts, and social media campaigns that don’t require in-person effort
  • Micro-goals: Set weekly or monthly targets instead of tackling the whole target at once

Designed for Impact

This isn’t just about small-scale activities. It’s about maximising your network and channeling efforts where they’ll make the greatest difference. Approach fundraising like training: with focus, energy, and purpose.

Together, we’ll make your fundraising journey as meaningful and rewarding as the challenge itself.

Fundraising Inspiration

There’s no single way to fundraise – what matters is creativity, ambition, and purpose. Here are approaches used by past high-achieving participants:

Corporate Partnerships & Sponsorships – Partner with companies that share your values. Secure matched giving, engage employees, or offer brand visibility.

Philanthropy-Focused Events – Host a gala, auction, or exclusive experience for networks that value giving and purpose.

Leveraging Your Network – Reach alumni groups, professional associations, or personal contacts, tailoring your message to each audience.

Awareness-Linked Campaigns – Align fundraising efforts with major events or awareness days to extend your reach.

Premium Event Ideas:

  • Executive Dinners: Invite influential contacts to a private, purpose-driven dining experience
  • Private Auctions: Offer exclusive items or experiences to your network
  • Themed Evenings: Halloween parties, masquerade balls, or other engaging events
  • Supper Clubs & Wine Tastings: Partner with local producers or chefs for a refined, high-impact experience

Tip: Focus on approaches that resonate with your strengths and networks. A well-targeted initiative with the right audience often raises more than a generic event that spreads effort too thin.

Storytelling & Leadership

High-impact fundraising relies on narrative. Share your “why” in 30 seconds:

  • Why this cause matters to you
  • The challenge you’re undertaking
  • The tangible impact of your fundraising

Every conversation, post, or email is an opportunity to inspire action. Think of your fundraising as a personal leadership challenge: set goals, track progress, and celebrate milestones.

Your Fundraising, Your Way

Whether bold or understated, every effort counts. With expert guidance, your ideas can translate into tangible impact – fuelling world-class research and changing futures.
